Welle… what’s next?

Andrei Costescu is an ordinary guy with extraordinary capacities. Some time ago he started a little business called Welle – Better Hot Spots, which offered a full package of wireless services: implementation, administration and maintenance. To be precise, we were colleagues at Electronic and Telecommunication University, when he manufactured the idea and tried to enter the Romanian market, which, at that time, was very slim in wireless technology. So he borrowed 6000 euros and began recruiting students with the same goals. Not long after that, Welle was born. It wasn’t a huge success, but the wireless technologies provided by this little idea was implemented on several companies. In theory is simple: you go there and install those things but in practice, well… just think about all the worms out there, ready to eat your firewalls. Andrei was optimistic and whenever you wold ask him how is business he would say: “Never been better”.

I remember reading an article about him in a local magazine called “Ambition” and a quote remained in my mind. Andrei was saying there: “Give me a scene and I will bring the internet at your feet”. And he did. For almost four years he is in business, permanently looking for new challenges. All I can say is: “The world is more malleable than you think and it’s waiting for you to hammer it into shape. Good luck”
